ICARE THERAPIES - About Me
I have a social work and health care background that has enabled me to work with people from many community backgrounds. I first became involved with complementary therapies in 2002 when commissioned to deliver community funded projects where people can access health information and various therapies.
I am ITEC trained at level 3 and appreciate the benefits that massage can have on the mind, body and soul.
Other courses attended include:
- Introduction course in Polarity Therapy
- Chair massage
Polarity Therapy
Polarity Therapy can be used alone, with the client remaining clothed or in conjunction with other therapies, for example massage, in which case the client needs to be unclothed. A treatment will take between 30 to 90 minutes. It can be used to help a number of conditions including back pain, tension, sciatica, digestive disorders and the release of emotional holding patterns.
Chair Massage
Fully clothed and seated in a relaxed position facing forward with the face, chest and legs supported your practitioner will work mainly on the back, shoulders, head and neck. This is often used as an 'express' treatment' to give quick relief to stress or aches and pains. For more chronic conditions this may help in the short term but your practitioner is likely to recommend seeing them for a longer treatment. A quick treatment to help relief of aches and pains particularly in the back, neck and shoulder areas. As a tool to help relax or re-invigorate you, it can help with stress and as a quick 'pick me up'. For anyone with a desk job it may help with posture.
